Esprit De Corps

Thanks to the skill and compassion of close to 650 trained employees, we are able to provide the highest quality of care and services to our residents.

Standout staff are selected as Employees of the Year!

Bravo! 2017 recipients

Two rise to the top, as selected from our nearly 650 best of the rest! Congratulations to our 2017 Employees of the Year – Bella Mengesha, LVN, and Yong (Ken) Zhong Lai, porter. Initially hired as a housekeeper, Bella put her determination to work, getting certified as a CNA and transferring to our nursing department, then advancing further by becoming an LVN. Bella is a shining example of resilience, dedication, setting goals and taking up opportunities, putting care first, and compassion. As for Ken, his commitment to the organization (he has just celebrated his 20-year anniversary) is matched by his readiness and willingness to help everyone – from staff to residents, families, and volunteers. He has been an amazing help with the various projects to get our campus ready for construction, while every Kiddush, food pantry, staff and resident event benefits from his assistance. And Ken does it all – and always – with a smile and a friendly greeting. Bella and Ken are pictured holding their awards, bookended by (far left) Kyle Ruth-Islas, administrator, and Armand Cruz, director of nursing, and (far right) Chris Baluyot, unit manager, and Angela Lazarich, director of campus operations.
